About the JSNA

What is the JSNA? 

The Stockton-on-Tees Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) is a source of information about the health and wellbeing needs of Stockton's residents.   

It is developed and maintained by the Public Health Intelligence team under the guidance of the Health and Wellbeing Board in association with other partners including the NHS. 

The JSNA aligns to the priority focus areas of the Health and Wellbeing Strategy which are:  

  • all children and families have the best start in life 
  • everyone has a healthy standard of living 
  • everyone lives in healthy and sustainable places and communities 
  • everyone lives long and healthy lives 

What can the JSNA be used for? 

The information provided in the JSNA is intended for a wide range of uses.

This includes but is not limited to:  

  • planning services in Stockton-on-Tees 
  • help to make commissioning decisions 
  • support finding bids 
  • research and education 

It is intended that the JSNA will be used by anyone who has an interest in the health and wellbeing of the population of Stockton-on-Tees.
